Board and advisor reporting needs to be accurate, comparable month to month, and presentable without extra formatting work — people pay for that reliability and polish, not for the ability to chart a number.
Questions
Can I import my existing Fathom HQ setup?
Not directly — Fathom's KPI definitions and report templates don't export. Your underlying accounting data, though, is the same monthly CSV export from Xero or QuickBooks either way, so the source data isn't lost.
Will it work on my phone?
The dashboard renders on a phone browser for a quick check, but importing CSVs and setting up KPI formulas is realistically a desktop task.
What does it cost to run?
Nothing beyond the machine you already own — no hosting, no API key, no subscription, since everything stays local.
What's the one thing that doesn't survive the rebuild?
Multi-entity consolidation. Fathom can roll several related businesses into one comparable view; this build handles one set of books at a time, and combining several means doing that math yourself.
