Verdict
A personal form builder — field types, public form pages, stored responses, CSV export, email notifications — is a real weekend build. What doesn't come with it is Jotform's actual breadth: a large widget catalog, payment collection, approval workflows, PDF generation, and a full app builder layered on top of forms.

Forms turn into small business processes without custom code — people pay for that breadth, not because a basic form with validation is hard to build.
Questions
Can I import my existing Jotform forms?
Not automatically — Jotform doesn't offer a structured export of form definitions. Response data exports as CSV and stays safe; recreating the form fields themselves is usually a few minutes of clicking for most forms.
Will it work on my phone?
Yes for filling out a form — the public pages are fully responsive. The admin builder is usable on a phone but designed with a desktop layout in mind.
What does it cost to run?
Hosting and a database, typically a few dollars a month — file uploads are the main thing that grows storage costs over time.
What's the one thing that doesn't survive the rebuild?
Payments and approvals. Jotform can collect a card payment or route a form through an approval chain right out of the box; this build only ever collects and stores an answer — anything beyond that is a separate tool.
