Verdict
A single-player flowchart tool — shapes, connectors that stay attached, snap-to-grid, undo/redo, export to PNG and SVG — is a real weekend build that can run entirely in the browser with zero backend. What doesn't come with it is real-time multiplayer editing and the wireframe and mind-map toolkits that go beyond basic flowcharts.

Add snap-to-grid and alignment guides while dragging, plus keyboard support for copy, paste, delete, nudging with arrow keys, and undo/redo through a history stack. People pay for speed and tidy diagrams that teammates can edit together without any setup — the collaboration, not the shapes, is the product.
Questions
Can I import my existing Whimsical boards?
Whimsical can export a board as an image, which is useful as a reference to trace over, but not as editable shapes — recreating a board's actual shapes and connectors here is a rebuild, not a migration.
Will it work on my phone?
Viewing works, but precise shape placement and connector routing are genuinely easier with a mouse — this is realistically a desktop tool, same as most canvas-based editors.
What does it cost to run?
Nothing — it's a static, client-only app with no server or database, hostable for free almost anywhere.
What's the one thing that doesn't survive the rebuild?
Real-time collaboration. Whimsical's actual value for a team is everyone editing the same board together live; a single-player local tool can't put two people in the same diagram at once.
