A personal transcription-and-search tool — record or import audio, transcribe locally with speaker labels, summarize with an LLM, search across everything — is a real weekend build. What doesn't come with it is Otter's live meeting-bot behavior, polished multi-speaker diarization, and searchable history synced across devices.

Can I import my existing Otter.ai transcripts?
Otter lets you export individual transcripts as text, and a short script can bulk-import those into this build's search index — the original audio generally isn't included in the export.
Will it work on my phone?
The search and summary views are responsive web pages, usable on a phone to look something up, but there's no dedicated mobile app for capturing meetings on the go.
What does it cost to run?
Nothing extra for local transcription; LLM API usage for summaries and chat costs a small amount per meeting, typically well under a dollar.
What's the one thing that doesn't survive the rebuild?
Reliable live capture. Otter's bot joins calls and records automatically; here, forgetting to hit record or import a file means that meeting simply isn't in the archive.
